2nd ASCIMER Workshop

Smart City Projects in the Mediterranean Region  

The 2nd ASCIMER Smart City Workshop will take place in Barcelona on the 25th and 26th November and will join academics and municipality representatives in order to discuss Smart City Projects in the Mediterranean Region in order to validate the Assessment Methodology developed by the UPM team with the support of the European Investment Bank.

The workshop has been organized together with the 7th Mediterranean City Forum in the frame of the 9th Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders. The events aim to bring together businesses, politicians, representatives of multilateral agencies and international institutions, offering an exchange of experiences aimed at consolidating the Euro-Mediterranean integration and collaboration. The objectives of the 2nd ASCIMER workshop are:

• Discussion and validation of the completeness, suitability regarding the South Mediterranean context, and general structure of the Assessment Methodology for Smart City Projects developed as part of Work Package two by the ASCIMER team.

• Discussion on the potential of Smart Projects for tackling city challenges and valuation of challenge priorities for Mediterranean cities.
